About This Course

A compliance framework only works if problems surface. Most serious regulatory failures were visible to someone inside the organisation well before they became public. This course, built around the whistleblowing provisions of Directive 980/2024, explains what staff at Ethiopian capital market service providers are expected to report and how the process protects them when they do.

The course sets out what whistleblowing means in a regulatory context and which categories of concern must be reported rather than merely noted. It distinguishes internal reporting from disclosure to the regulator, and explains when each is appropriate. The protections available to those who report in good faith - including confidentiality, anonymity where permitted, and safeguards against retaliation - are covered in detail.

Practical process follows: the reporting channels a firm must maintain, what information a report should contain, and what happens after submission. Learners then follow the investigation process itself - how reports are assessed, how evidence and records are handled, and how outcomes are determined and communicated.

The course closes on the conditions that make people willing to speak up in the first place: psychological safety, consistent management response, and visible follow-through, together with the accountability that must accompany them.
